Will Angel Reese play? LSU women's basketball vs. Texas Southern: Score, live updates

When No. 7 LSU women's basketball takes the court inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for pregame warmups on Monday night, all eyes in the sport will be on Baton Rouge.

Will Texas Southern's Angel Reese, the top forward for the Tigers, play?

Reese did not go to Hammond with the squad last Friday for a game against Southeastern Louisiana.

Reese was one of the program's greatest talents on the road to earning its first NCAA Championship last season. LSU (4-1) defeated the Lions, 73-50, to win their fourth straight game.

Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey stated that Reese is still a member of the team but would not provide a reason for her absence on Friday night.

"Angel was not wearing a uniform," Mulkey declared after the match. "We hope Angel returns to the basketball squad soon. She is a member of this group. I won't respond to questions beyond that.

Mulkey attributed Reese's whole second-half sit during Kent State's game last Tuesday to a "coach's decision." The junior finished the first half with 11 points and five rebounds in 14 minutes before coming to the bench.
